Sellers description:
1974 Jaguar E-type Series III V12 Roadster. This Jaguar E-type was built on April 24 of 1974 and was dispatched on July 2nd of 1974. As we understand, the same family has owned this car since March 2nd of 1984 in the state of Virginia. We purchased this Jaguar from this family as a stalled restoration that had been off the road since the early 1990s. The previous owner had the car painted a very pretty light opalescent (metallic) gold in 1995, but unfortunately was unable to assemble and finish the car due to his declining health. He did not drive the car after it was painted. We bought and took on this great Series III E-type to complete the car back to its former glory.

More details and some of the recent work we completed on this great car are as follows:

This is an all matching numbers car and matches the numbers on the original Heritage Certificate and also the data plate.
We converted the bumpers from the big black bumpers to the earlier style chrome bumpers. We do have the original bumpers which go with the car.
We installed a brand new interior kit with black leather seats and new carpeting. In addition, a newer dark brown canvas top was installed and looks gorgeous on the car.
Newer tires were installed.. The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition and also has new chrome hex knock offs. Also comes with the original jack, hammer and knock off adapter. Also comes with an original owners' manual and shop/service manual.
The underside is in excellent condition as it was cleaned and degreased and resealed. The original floors are solid. A brand new stainless steel system was installed. The spare tire compartment is also very clean and solid. There is no rust on this car.
We installed a new Triplex windshield with new window seals.
A upgraded Retro Sound Stereo system was installed.
All the chrome on the car is in exceptional condition and has a tremendous shine with plenty of depth.

As with any Jaguar E-type that has been sitting, we did give extra special attention to the mechanical and electrical aspects of this car. The fuel system and all fluids were flushed and changed. The carburetors were completely rebuilt and tuned. The front brakes were rebuilt and entire brake system serviced. This included a rebuilt master cylinder and new slave cylinder. Also, a new clutch master cylinder and clutch slave. Furthermore, new upgraded torsion bars were installed. The entire electrical system has been gone through. The air conditioning works perfect and blows cold air. All water hoses were replaced and are brand new (very extensive job which most do not have done). The engine has all new belts as well.

The Jaguar presented here is one of the best running and driving Series III E-type cars we have owned and we've had a lot of them. The engine is very strong and the oil pressure when the car is warm is excellent. The compression is great across all 12 cylinders of 145 psi to 150psi. The car does not overheat and holds temperature well. This great E-type performs flawlessly. The steering is very tight, the car stops straight with no pull to the right or left on hard braking and accelerates quickly with plenty of power remaining in all the gears. The clutch feels nice as it should and all the gears engage perfectly with no noises or grinding. This Jaguar E-type is truly a pleasure, comfortable and very exciting to drive. It is one of those classic sports cars that you want to drive it more and more. Overall, this is an excellent high level driver/local show car to be enjoyed and driven. It does not need anything and is ready to go.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that is finished in metallic gold over black leather and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a brown soft top, chrome luggage rack, chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels, power steering, air conditioning, and a stainless steel exhaust system. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in 2015 following a refurbishment that reportedly included a repaint, an interior refresh, installation of backdated bumpers, and replacement of the soft top, windshield, window seals, tires, and torsion bars. This final-year E-Type is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, service manuals, the removed factory radio, a RetroSound stereo, tools, and a clean Louisiana title.

The car was refinished in metallic gold during previous ownership. The 2015 refurbishment reportedly included replacing the brown soft top and installing back-dated bumpers, a Triplex windshield, and new window seals. Additional features include a chrome grille, hood louvers, central exhaust outlets, and V12 badging.

Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 215/65 Lemans Touring tires. Service in 2015 reportedly included replacing the brake hydraulic cylinders and installing aftermarket torsion bars.

The bucket seats were reupholstered in black leather during the 2015 refurbishment. Amenities include power steering, air conditioning, a heater/defroster, a locking glovebox, and an analog clock. The removed factory radio and a RetroSound replacement are included in the sale.

A three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6.5k-rpm redline. Gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are set in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.

The numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 features quad Zenith carburetors that were reportedly rebuilt and tuned in 2015. The seller states that the belts and coolant hoses were also replaced at that time.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were reportedly replaced in 2015. A stainless steel exhaust system is fitted, and the underside was reportedly cleaned, degreased, and resealed during the 2015 refurbishment.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors and engine number. A jack, tools, manufacturer’s literature, service manuals, the removed factory radio, and a RetroSound stereo are also included in the sale.
