This 1974 Jaguar XKE Series III 2dr ROADSTER features a 12 CYLINDER Gasoline engine and is equipped with an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION and AIR CONDITION. This blonde kitty is Old English White over red hides. It has found it's way to us on trade from a classic car collector Louisiana. That collector adored and maintained it for many years prior to trading it for our 1965 Aston Healey. Although it won't win Pebble Beach it does show very well and is a strong Category 2 on the Hagerty scale. The paint shines well and the red leather interior is free of any rips, tears or burns and has exceptional patina. The chrome shines bright and is free of rust or pitting. The nicely fit top is free of rips or tears and the rear window is clear. The hardtop has been refitted with new gaskets all around. The wire wheels are in exceptional condition. It's frame has little in the way of surface rust and is very solid. Incredibly, this numbers matching car been driven a mere 20,529 miles. As this was the final year of the XKE series, features of this car include: the Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Air Conditioning and Wire Wheels. Only downfall to this classic is it's aftermarket AM/FM/CD player. While not original, it does add to your driving enjoyment. Also included is a service history binder. A sensation since its introduction, the XKE continues to increase in popularity and value with collectors across the globe. This example of the extraordinary XKE has been inspected, serviced and tuned by our Bosch authorized facility in order to insure your ownership satisfaction.
Price: $84,900

Car at auction 5/22
www.mecum.com/lots/SC0522-502313/1974-jaguar-e-type-series-iii-roadster/
Auction description:
Lot T208 Indy 2022 May 13-21
1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III Roadster
5.3L V-12, 20,736 Miles
Color White
Interior Red
Estimate $80,000 - $120,000
Highlights
Automatic transmission
Black soft top
Rare removable OEM hardtop
Comprehensive restoration
Finished in White with Red leather interior
Body has had an OEM bumper conversion kit installed to enhance the earlier look of non rubber bumperettes
As with many SIII E-types, this comprehensively restored, automatic, 20,736-mile roadster from the last year of production has been enhanced with the chrome wire wheels favored by enthusiast drivers over the standard, pressed-steel items; the white-line tires also neatly complement the body color. This E-type roaster has the added advantage of an accompanying, rare, OEM hardtop for comfortable, all-weather touring.
Although the V-12 E-type may never have come into existence were it not for tightening U.S. regulations, one issue resolved less successfully was the U.S. 5 MPH impact regulations met in a rather clumsy DIY fashion by adding ugly rubber protrusions. Thankfully, the vendor of this car has addressed it rather more elegantly by replacing them with an OEM chrome over-rider conversion kit to restore the elegant front and rear. Now, just as in its production life, the SIII E-type is at least equally sensational, when you compare it with the price today of the contemporary, rarefied exotics with which it rubs shoulders in wheel-to-wheel combat.
