72,620 miles
on ebay 04/07
seller writes:
have owned this 73 XKE since 2/4/2000. I have traced the titles thru the BMV and talked to a previous owner from New York who brought it to Indiana and stored it. It has had a clutch installed but I have no idea how many miles were on it when at the time. It currently has just over 72k miles and those are miles I put on it driving it 55 miles one way to work. I have had both driver and passenger floors replaced and that is all that has been done to it. It starts, runs strong but does need the carbs tuned. I have new belts, oil filter and a gasket or two that will go with the car. The battery is a couple of years old and the belts on the alternater slip. I have new ones but haven't put them on. I am retiring in a few months and I have three jags and must get down to one. I am offering this E-type just as it is and it is just as I bought it. No warranty expressed or written and it is what it is, a 1973 Jag. I have never abused this vehicle, it has been kept inside and cleaned routinely. I had every intention of completely restoring it but at the last minut bought an XKR convertable. I am providing pictures and have more to offer via e-mail should you need more. Again, please keep in mind this is a 34 year old vehicle and has aged well. The paint is thin in spots and there is some rust but not much. Nothing major but it is there. Someone stole the passenger side wiper arm somewhere/sometime. I didn't notice it at the time and have since not been able to locate one although an intensive search has not been made.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
