    Ebay item 6/22/05
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $2,606.00 (Reserve not met), 5 bids, 6 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
This cat started its life in Little Rock, AR in 1970. It stayed their for four years and than moved to NJ. About 8 years ago it moved to Miami, Fl., where it was driven for two years than was parked because of lost interest in the car, the car now is in Asheville,NC.

The winner of the auction will be the second owner, the title was never changed from the original owner.

About the cat, the engine runs and the car can drive in the drive way. The brakes need new seals but the E brake works. Missing parts from the original car are the AC compressor, AC condenser, everything else is their down to the spare tire {spoke wheel} and all the tools [jack]. The temp. Gauge has been changed, but I have the original one. I can not tell if all the gauges work or other electric devices, although the car runs I assume their can be some bad grounds or fuses. When the cat was parked everything worked. I have no time to go through the elec. System, that’s why it’s on EBay.

Rust, there is some, passenger floor board has surface rust, the driver side is rusty also and has gone through the floor board in three spots down by the pedals, easy fix. As you see in the photos the passenger door has rust on the bottom. There is rust on the rear quarters, just surface rust, easy fix. The chassis is rock solid, I have been under the car and poked around with a screw driver and it’s solid. The windshield is broken [rock thrown], I have checked on prices for a used one, $250.00. The interior shows a car that’s is all original and 35 years old. Surprisingly the seats do not have any rips in them, but the leather is cracked.

    Car returns to ebay 9/26/11

Opening bid $9,150, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Oxford, New Jersey.

    Sellers description:
1970 4 speed, air conditioned, power steering FHC manufactured in June 1970. I have clear title to the car. The odometer reads just under 62K which I believe is correct. Engine number and chassis numbers match the data plate. Due to an injured arm I'm unable to confirm the gearbox serial number but I don't think the drive train has ever been out of the car and it is likely the gearbox is a match to the data plate (the previous owner stated he confirmed the gearbox is original). I also believe this car is one of Jaguar's "special order" paint cars as silver wasn't offered in 1970. Warwick Grey was offered (looks too light to be Warwick Grey) but it was not offered with a black interior which this car has and which I also believe is original. The car has not been repainted and the silver color appears everywhere on the car (behind panels, frame, beneath fuel tank, etc.). If there are any experts out there with an opinion on this please feel free to weigh-in (I want to ensure I represent the car as accurately as possible). The car is basically complete with the exception of the A/C compressor and condensor. The engine seems to have all original parts with no modifications. The car was undercoated at some point (probably when new) which has helped keep rust at bay. However, the driver floor will need replacement (passenger side looks OK) and as the photos show there is rust along the lower portion of the doors (should only need to re-skin the doors - the undersides are OK with only minor surface rust), behind the rear wheels and the lower portion of the bonnet side panels. The battery tray has surface rust only - the corresponding side opposite the battery tray (right side of the engine bay) is also just surface rust. The rear suspension attachment points also look strong. The interior is complete and in pretty good shape and probably only needs a thorough cleaning and replacement of various plated trim pieces. The seats need to be recovered. In addition to the power steering and A/C, the car was also sold with tinted glass (Sundym), chrome plated wires and the amber rear window warning light mounted on the dash. I purchased this car 6 years ago with the intent of a restoration but a change in plans leads me to offer it for sale. It was running (poorly) at the time I purchased it but is currently not running (the engine turns freely) so please plan on a suitable means to transport it to your location. I have not done any work on the car other than remove the fuel tank, clean it, seal it and repaint it. Currently, the tank is loosely sitting in place with no connections (this is why the car is not running). The windshield is cracked - all other glass is OK. The oil pressure and water temperature gauges are aftermarket but the original Smiths gauges will go with the car. The radio is also an aftermarket unit (junk) - I do not have the original radio. It also has the jack, wheel hammer and wrench. Please keep in mind this is a car which will require a fair amount of work to make it road worthy or to complete a restoration. However, I believe it's a good candidate for restoration.
