Car to be at RM auction, Monterey, California 8/08
www.rmauctions.com/

Auction description:
1963 Jaguar Series I E-Type 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe
LOT: 219
Estimate:
$50,000-$70,000 US
Chassis No. J63887590
Offered Without Reserve

An original California car, the XKE Fixed Head Coupe pictured here had its engine rebuilt in 1982 and was fitted with the synchronized four-speed transmission of the 4.2-liter E-Type, rendering it an even better driving vehicle. Finished in Old English White with a dark tan interior, it was subsequently sold in 1988 by a dentist in California and, over the past ten years, has been stored and driven only occasionally. As such, it has accumulated approximately 700 miles since 1999 and remains a solid driver that has been garage kept, maintained and properly serviced as needed. It retains its service records, receipts, jack, and owner’s manual and also features the early aluminum dash and console.

Above all, it is a remarkable example of the most desirable production series and offers the exhilarating motoring, race-bred performance, construction, and alluring design characteristic of Jaguar’s famed E-Type.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
