This car has been in a garage for the last 20 years. i am looking to get this into driving shape. Body is in remarkably good condition, very little rust. Interior is very good, chrome stainless wires.

Claret was only offered as a standard colour from 1961-2. According to Clausager (former archivist at Jaguar, so speaking with some authority), only 4 cars were painted in this colour. Ultra rare.

The car can not be "Excellent original" if it has been (obviously) repainted in a different colour and then later restored and does not have an original untouched gearbox.

Also it sure would be nice to see a JHT certificate about this ultra rare original colour , please add it to the photos here. Thx.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
