Sellers comment:
Offered in as is and where is condition:
Jaguar XKE Roadster, series 1, 1964.
This 40 year old virgin, hurt after she dropped a timing chain when she was only 2 years old and left alone. After a while the car was pushed outside where it was left to subject to the elements. It has only 23,380 miles, matching numbers, original paint and interior. Since 1989 it was put in dry storage.
This is the story of this XKE Roadster. A total restoration project, completely untouched and original to the last bolt and nut. Needs extensive rust repair on the bottom and sills, the best restoration object for the whole-souled enthusiast. Again, the car needs full restoration, if done right, the result will be a beautiful undisturbed XKE Roadster, series 1.

Car to be at Coy's auction 3/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php
Auction description:
Lot 247
Registration Number: TBC
Chassis Number: 880244
This 1964 roadster has recently undergone a restoration by Mill Lane Engineering, including a bare metal respray, full engine rebuild and modification of the original 3.8 engine to 4.2 specification. The work was conducted approximately six years ago to a cost of nearly £100,000 and the car has covered limited mileage since.
A stage one cylinder head with triple Webber carburettors have been fitted and power is fed through a 5-speed Getrag gearbox. The interior is finished in beige leather with larger heated seats in order to accommodate the bespoke requirements of the vendor. However, the original seats will be available by separate negotiation.
Disc brakes have been fitted all round, along with larger wheels and tyres.
Sitting on chrome wire wheels, this highly desirable example of Jaguar’s most famous model is offered at a fraction of the cost that has been invested in it.
Estimate: £50000 - £60000
