Car to be at auction 5/10
www.rmauctions.com/FeatureCars.cfm

Auction description:
1963 Jaguar E-Type Series I Roadster
Chassis No.877788
Estimate:€65.000-€85.000
AUCTION DATE:To be auctioned on
Saturday, May 1, 2010
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The Series I E-Type Roadster offered here was produced on 2nd August 1962 and shipped to Colorado, where it remained for its entire life with just three owners from new. Today, it is a remarkable example of originality and period correctness, clearly having benefited from decades of proper care and attention.

With just one refinish in its original black, complemented by the original red leather interior and Wilton wool carpets, the Jaguar features an arrow-straight body with excellent panel fit and good body gaps. The engine bay features proper clamps, finishes and components throughout, while the boot and spare chrome wire wheel are also consistent with the pristine overall condition of the car. The original tonneau cover still shows the factory-applied chalk numerals, while a new canvas boot with red piping and a rare factory hardtop complete the weather gear.

Today, the E-Type shows just 43,692 miles, which are believed to be accurate. It comes complete with the owner’s manual and an as-new and complete tool kit, including an unused tyre-pressure gauge, which retains its original plastic wrapping. Other fascinating items include the original warranty card, maintenance vouchers, period maintenance documents, a foldout lubrication chart and a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate. The two original keys and key fobs are also included. Superbly well equipped, this E-Type is mechanically ready to be driven and enjoyed with confidence. For enthusiasts who appreciate correctness and originality, this is truly a rare opportunity.

Car returned to auction 8/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
1962 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster - 3 Owners and 45,000 miles from new
Lot 148
Registration Number: EU Registered
Chassis Number: 877788

This particular model left the works in Coventry on 2nd August 1962 ansd ws subsequently shipped to Colorado, where it should remain until earlier this year with just three owners from new. We have only very rarely come across another example which is as original and correct, clearly having passed through caring hands.

Havin been only once repainted in its original black, the car still features its original, beautifully patinated red leather interior. Even the orginal tonneau cover is still with the car. A rare factory hardtop completes the weather gear. The mileage showing of less than 45,000 miles is believed to be correct, and to compliment the time warp character of this early E-Type it comes not only with the owner’s manual but also a complete tool kit including a tyre-pressure gauge in its original plastic wrapping as well as the original warranty card, maintenance vouchers and a Jaguar / Daimler Heritage Certificate as well as the original two sets of keys. Originality can not be replaced and this E-Type must be of one the most original and best kept examples on the market.
