Ebay item 8/10/12

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Jaguar-XKE-Roadster-original-car-34-818-miles-inclu ...

Opening bid $26,500 no bids 6 days left in auction. 34k miles. Believed to be in Vernon, Connecticut at this time.

Sellers description:

I purchased this vehicle from the second owner 10 years ago, he had the vehicle in storage for six years prior to that. This was his wifes car, when she became ill he took it off the road. I have had it in storage since my purchase. All the paperwork and manuals are there, all tools, hammer, knock off tool etc. The car is fitted with a factory Parrish hardtop, the hardtop is pictured in the factory manual - which also goes with the car. This is a nice original, rust free car, I intended to clean the gas tank, do brakes, replace plugs etc. and drive. Never got around to it, vehicle is now for sale. Interior is excellent original, instruments perfect, have factory radio as well as custom unit now in car. Soft top was tattered so new canvas was purchased years ago but never installed. Engine turns free but has not been started in awhile. Purchased new from Palotti and Poole in Hartford CT, original owner had vehicle until sold in 1970, (she moved out of country) and the person I bought it from purchased. Clear Connecticut title from 1970. Car is 100% complete and original, you really have to see the vehicle.

Seller's description:

Lot #20446

Seller: colinh

Location: Walnut Creek, California 94598 (formerly Somerset, Massachusetts)

Chassis: 1R7035

37,500 Miles Shown

Numbers-Matching 4.2L DOHC Inline-Six

4-Speed Manual Gearbox

Restored in 2014

Daimler Silver over Black Leather

Chrome Wire Wheels

Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate

Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a left-hand-drive series II roadster that was built on August 8, 1968 finished in Daimler Silver Grey over black. Power is provided by its matching-numbers 4.2-liter inline-six, which is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. The car was first owned by Doris Rogers of Connecticut and went to Massachusetts with a subsequent owner. After a long period of storage, a rotisserie restoration was completed in 2014. The seller, who is believed to be the fourth owner, purchased the car out of Massachusetts in 2014 and brought it to California. He has since added 3k miles while sorting a few issues as outlined below. This E-Type is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was disassembled and repainted in its original hue of Daimler Silver Grey during the restoration. Chrome items were also re-plated, and a new black convertible top and boot were fitted.

Chrome wire wheels feature knockoff hubs and are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport tires showing 2013 date codes. The seller has installed EBC Greenstuff brake pads up front to address a squeal.

Bucket seats with headrests are upholstered in black leather and feature lap and shoulder belts. A black canvas boot covers the convertible top when it is lowered. The carpets are protected by Jaguar-logo floor mats.

A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel fronts a dash with Smiths gauges, including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6,000-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows just over 37,500 miles. The seller has replaced the inside rearview mirror and the clock. The rocker switches were also replaced and the surrounding panel refurbished under current ownership, and the handbrake has been repaired. A period Pioneer 8-track stereo is present.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features dual carburetors and is paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. An oil and filter change, coolant flush, and brake fluid change were done in June 2019. The engine stamping (7R1019-9) matches the Jaguar Heritage certificate.

The springs, shocks, brake lines, and brake calipers are said to be among the items replaced during the restoration, and a new stainless-steel exhaust was fitted. More details of the restoration and before and after photos can be seen at XKEdata.com by entering the VIN number.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the chassis, engine, and body numbers, as well as the factory colors, production information, and early ownership history.
