This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was acquired by the seller as a non-running project in April 2022 and subsequently underwent a mechanical refurbishment that included overhauling the brake system, rebuilding the triple SU carburetors, and servicing the ignition, fuel, and cooling systems. The car is finished in black over red leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a louvered clamshell bonnet, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. This XKE is now offered at no reserve with a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and features a louvered clamshell bonnet, a driver-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, and a wrap-around rear bumper with overriders. The seller notes evidence of prior paintwork around the fuel filler door.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and are mounted with Coker Classic redline tires. The braking system was overhauled in 2022 by rebuilding the front calipers, re-packing the wheel bearings, and replacing the brake master cylinder, brake booster, rear calipers, front rotors, and brake hoses as well as flushing the brake fluid.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in red leather accompanied by a color-matched console, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes rocker switches for vehicle functions and a radio console that houses a push-button AM/FM/cassette player, Pioneer speakers, and switchgear for a previously installed CB radio. The interior upholstery shows wear, and corrosion is visible on various rear trim hardware.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, a handful of which have been added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors that were rebuilt in 2022. Additional work at that time included an oil change and replacing the following components:
Fuel tank, fuel lines, and fuel pump
Ignition coil and wires
Spark plugs
Fuse boxes
Water pump
Thermostat
Drive belts
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work completed in 2022 included servicing the clutch and rear differential in addition to replacing the clutch master and slave cylinders.
