Ebay item 6/6/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1969-Jaguar-E-Type-VERY-ORIGINAL-FHC_W0QQi ...
Current bid $3,050 reserve not met, 4 bids, 8 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar E-type 2-seater coupe. First, (1) panel was (poorly re-sprayed..bad color match) many years ago, by the original owner, (right front quarter panel). The paint does have a very nice patina, other then that, the car is basically original. Recent work includes new brake master, servo, hoses, as well as rebuilt front calibers w/ stainless pistons. The car starts and drives very nicely, it also has a new battery and battery tray, and alternator switches. The XKE also has factory A/C. The inside is very clean and complete. The period michelin tires are in great shape as are the 5 wire wheels. Things that are not working, the wipers, clock, a/c, and radio. Doesn’t have the trim around the back window. (2) wiper blades are not original, Antenna not on car. I have a few items that are included in the sale which are; (1) set of Kevlar hoses, approx 8 hoses, both boots for shifter, rubber and leather, (2) original repair service books, (3) filters, fuel and oil. (1) Set of valve cover gaskets, (1) car cover. (1) Set of rear brake hoses. I have done my best to describe this XKE, if I have omitted anything, it is truly accidental and a oversight. The car is located in Valley Forge PA, The miles are original, it is one of the cleanest un-molested e-types currently available on the market. The (1) quarter panel that was painted does make this XKE NOT completely original, I took that into consideration and have dropped my price from what would have been a $30,000 plus car. The reserve is set at less then $20,000.

All numbers to the car are matching. The floors, sills, and rockers and spare tire well are tight, the floors have some denting from not properly jacking the car. The passenger foot well does have some small rust in the upper right hand corner. The rubber gaskets for the windows truck etc and intact but dry rotted, two small areas of surface bubbles on each of the rear quarters below the bumper (very small). The rockers are very clean, as well as the tire well, very tight and strong. The motor has never been "over-hauled" it starts and runs smooth and strong, no backfiring. The oil pressure when running is approx 30lbs, dead center of the oil gauge.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
