Ebay item 1/12/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Jaquar-XKE-2-2-4spd-/230911112751
Current bid $6,100 reserve not met 6 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1968 Jaquar XKE 2+2 4.2L 4spd which is an all matching # car body, car#, and engine # are correct. I bought this car with the intention of restoring but I do not have the time so I have decided to sell. The car has right at 66,000 miles on it and is correct, the owner I bought the car from had owned for almost 30yrs and did not drive the car that much. Several years ago he rebuilt the motor, trans and rearend and had the seats redone and since then he had only put around 3,000 miles on the car. He had also changed all the brakes to stainless and rebuilt calipers and new pads on as well. He parked the car and put a tarp over it and it has sat there for over two years until I bought it. I had to put a new gas tank in the car since the original one had some rust flakes in it. I have started the car but two of the carbs started leaking so I have ordered two new main jet diaphrams and waiting on them now. The car will need to be tuned with new points and condenser which I have.

The body on the car is in nice shape but does have typical rust spots, it will need a passenger floor and has a hole in the passenger rocker. Both doors have some small rust areas along the bottom edge but is an easy fix I have already had a body shop look at all of the problem areas. All of the glass is in good condition, the chrome bumpers on the car will need to be rechromed or replaced. The tires are starting to dry-rot so before driving a great distance I would replace them as well. I do have the original spare and jack with the car along with some paperwork. The interior in the car is nice, seats are in great shape along with dash and cluster. It is missing the front and one rear carpet pieces, do have seat belts in a box. The car is available for viewing or inspection.

Car returns to ebay 10/5/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Jaguar-E-Type-/282681591317
Current bid US $20,000, no reserve, 10 bids 9 days left in auction, seller hitcharide1ad, mileage reported as 0, car now said to be in Little Hocking, Ohio.

Sellers description:
This is a 1968 Jaguar Xke. We bought this about six years ago, thinking it'd be a nice project to restore. Unfortunately, health issues and other projects took up all the time, and we just never got around to doing anything much with it.

The interior was mostly redone by the previous owner, except for carpet, of which there really isn't any. Both floor pans need replacement as there are holes, and as you can see from the pictures, the bottom of the doors need work as well.

It came with a newer fuel tank, which we installed. The fuel system looks fine except for the carbs, which need a thorough going-thru. It tends to run at a fast idle because the power valves stick and don't fully seat.

Some of the lights and switches don't work, which I understand is fairly common for a 50 year old Jaguar.

The radiator neck was damaged when we received it; I took it off, had it professionally repaired, and reinstalled same.

The pictures are fairly self explanatory as to body work needed/restoration.

It seems to drive well, and shifts through all the gears cleanly. The clutch is very firm and my guess would be it has very few miles on it. The tachometer works, the speedo does not.

All of the glass appears to be in decent shape. Some of the exterior bumper pieces/trim are missing and did not come with the car when I purchased it.

I didn't bother to transfer it into my name, but I do have a valid and notarized title, free of liens. The stamping in the body matches the title.

We have a small shop and have worked on any number of vehicles, but sorry to say, I'm not fully knowledgeable about Jaguars.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
