Car currently listed on EBay:

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Description
Item Specifics
Jaguar : XKE
1968 2+2 Ser I - cert all original driver

Miles: 110500 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Automatic Interior: Black
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1968
VIN Number: 1E78194BW Exterior: White

Vehicle Description: You can drive this car every day when it doesn't rain. It runs like a top. you won't have to spend a dime.

The Brakes were completely redone about 4,000 miles ago. Tires were new about 4,000 miles ago. The transmission was rebuilt last November and is still under warranty. The alternator was rebuilt in April and the regulator replaced. Upgraded headers made the car run in top form but I will include the original headers and manifold if the buyer intends to restore the E to concourse.

I replaced the worn leather front seats with vinyl which look excellent and serve well for driving.

Also included are the original jack and knockoff hammer and pouch. The toolkit was missing when I got the car.

The Certificate discloses that the original color was Cream and the original interior was Dark Blue.

The interior is in good shape and is still blue exept for the front seats which are black vinyl.

To restore, the rust has to be repaired, the chrome replated and new paint to restore the cream. New seat covers in the original dark blue leather. A few odds and ends.

Or If you just want to smile every time you drive it and enjoy the XKE.

Vehicle Condition: All of the spending requirements come into play in the event of restoration. As the photos will show the car is very presentable from 10 feet.

All dials work the clock needs only a battery. I ran the clock for a couple of months and got tired of replacing the batteries. The speedometer bounces a little when you first leave a standing stop otherwise works fine.

There are a few minor rust issues, see photos. The worst is under the drivers side out of view it is the size of my palm and the hole is where the jack point was. I have the jack point. The other rust issues are near the fenders The 2 spots are small 1 quarter sized and the other credit card sized. The paint is bubbled but the metal seems solid.

In any event the car seems to have never been involved in an accident. It is straight and solid. I have the original manual with original notations of the services performed written in it and all my service records. Since last year. I have The Jaguar Trust Certificate which I will email upon request

Current bid $4,860, no reserve, 12 bids, 5 days left in auction. Current location Missouri City, Texas.

Sellers description:
This 1968 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 with 111,508 miles has been carefully maintained by its original owner until his passing in 2000. It was obtained from his widow by a dealer from whom I acquired it in 2001. This is a garage-kept vehicle and is owned by a non-smoker.

Shortly before his passing, the original owner completely overhauled the brakes and installed new tires.

I have added approximately 3,000 miles since I owned it. Also have the original owners manual with hand written service notations implying that the mileage is accurate. But no guarantee.

I have done the following:
Rebuilt the transmission
Upgraded the headers
Installed vinyl seats in the front with head rests
Had routine services performed by a classic Jaguar Specialist, "Jaguar of Houston"

I have obtained the Jaguar Certificate from the Daimler Trust which is included with the car.

All instruments work including the clock (needs battery). Speedometer bounces a little between 0-20 mph.

This car is presently a good driver.
Looks good from 20 feet. No dents no accidents
Car can pass local Texas inspection and I will have a new sticker installed before shipping.
Buyer can continue to drive it without spending any money, or:

In order to make suitable for show:
Needs Chrome redone
Needs all rubber weaherstripping
Rust as shown and repainting
Redo interior in leather. and carpet.
Detail engine
Dash has about a 2 inch crack
P R N D2 D1 is split and needs to be replaced
Original jack and mallet no toolkit.
