This 1967 Jaguar XKE coupe was distributed through Jaguar Cars of New York and is thought to have been imported to Canada in the early 1980s, where it was acquired in Ontario by father-in-law of its the current owner in 1988. The car is finished in blue over darker blue vinyl, and power comes from a numbers-matching 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The sway bar end links and right rear wheel bearing were replaced in 2018. This E-Type is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, partial service records, and transferrable Ontario registration in the owner’s name.

Delivered from the factory in Opalescent Silver Blue, the car was repainted in its current non-metallic hue at an unknown point. Areas of filler are noted in the doors, rocker panels, and rear quarters along with rust in the rockers, left wheel lip, and lower driver’s door, as well as a paint blister on the upper right quarter panel. The hinged hatch support prop assembly is missing.

Details include open headlights as well as taillights mounted above the rear bumper. The right headlight is a replacement, while the left is a factory-style Lucas sealed-beam unit. Chrome 15″ wire wheels wear earlier Series I knock-off nuts and 2008-dated Pirelli Cinturato P5 tires. A matching spare wheel with older Bridgestone rubber is housed beneath the trunk floor. The front shocks were replaced and the Dunlop front brake calipers rebuilt in 2016. A new right rear wheel bearing and sway bar links were installed in 2018.

The cockpit is said to have been retrimmed in its current blue vinyl in 2005. A custom aluminum switch panel is mounted below the left side of the dash, while early-style toggle switches and a period Boman AM/FM radio are fitted in the center. Wear is noted on the seat cushion piping, and the inoperable dome light is also missing its lens.

A worn wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths speedometer and tachometer, while supplementary readouts in the center dash include an intermittently-functional Lucas ammeter. Just under 11k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, which is said to have rolled over. Approximately 38k miles have been added by the current owner’s family in 32 years.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with triple AUD227 SU HD8 carburetors and a GM alternator conversion. The engine was reportedly overhauled by an Ontario Jaguar dealer in 2004, while cylinder head work was carried out in 2016.

Cylinder head and block stampings read 7E13910-9 and match the data plate as well as the included Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate notes that the car was dispatched to the US on July 17, 1967 and lists its original colors as well chassis, engine, and body numbers.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
