I believe I am the 3rd owner. The previous owner had the car only one year and traded it for a Lotus 7. He purchased the car in Costa Mesa from a dealer who resurrected the car from an 18 year hiatus (1978-1996). Perhaps he purchased it from the original owner?
I will, in all likelyhood, never part wth this car.

He purchased the car in Costa Mesa from a dealer who resurrected the car from an 18 year hiatus (1978-1996). Perhaps he purchased it from the original owner? At this time, the car was a hideous shade of gold, very similar to a 1956 Gibson Les Paul guitar. Nice for a Gibson, diabolical for a Jaguar!
I have just completed a nut-and-bolt restoration of the car. I intended on painting it the original Opalescent Maroon, but found the color near impossible to get right. Out of frustration and impatience, i settled on Opalescent Silver Grey and it has proven to be quite popular.
I will, in all likelyhood, never part wth this car.

Hello Eric,
I too have a '66 DHC Opalescent Silver Grey. My color however is origional and looks to have a shade darker than your photos and my color has a green tint similar to other OSG cars on the register. Maybe it's the light in your photos. Are you sure of the color Opalescent Silver Grey on your car?
