    Sellers comment:
    1965 Jaguar xke coupe. I recently purchased this car from the original owner, who bought this car in Frankfurt, Germany in 1965. He drove the car in Germany for 6 months and then he took it to the USA. The car stayed in Texas most of the time, until recently.

    The original color of the car remains the same; "Cream". The car was repainted this past month.

    The upholstery is the original red leather.

    This is a complete matching number car. Original purchase documents; bill of sale, manufacturer's warranty, and service records will be provided.

    The original radio is even included.

    Vehicle Condition
    Vehicle ID Number: 1E31025
    Engine Number: 7E3841-9
    All numbers match.
    * Engine: Runs and sounds good, recently tuned up, & very clean. A lot of documentation on service and maintenance will be provided.
    * Body: New beautiful "cream" color paint (original color). No dents, No dings. Rockers and floors are solid, and I think that they are original.
    * Bonnet: Shuts and fits properly. The underside has been cleaned and repainted.
    * Doors: No sags. They shut and seal properly.
    * Trunk Pan Area: Solid.
    * Tools/Jack: Not Included.
    * Interior: Original Red leather. Some wear and tear is present.
    * Chrome: All chrome is presentable; Very little pitting. Still a lot of shine.
    * Brakes: Good. Brake master cylinder was recently rebuilt.
    * Clutch: Works good. The clutch slave was recently rebuilt.
    * Tires/Wires: Average Shape.

    This pretty car has much documented history from when it was driven off the lot in 1965!

    Hi, I own the car now. I brought it at the auction at Ebay, It is now located in Aalborg in Denmark, Europe, the car were sold new by Peter Lindner autodealership in Frankfurt, Germany to an american soldier stationed in germany. He drove it six months in Germany before returning to the US with the car, he owned the car until november 2003. The original color scheme is red interior and cream exterior.
    The car is in rustfree condition and the motor runs and sounds very nice. No smoke. The interior is in rough condition and need restoration. The car currently need some attention specielly to the front suspension before it are ready for the road again.
    Best regards

    Hi
    Just a update on the history of the car. After contacting the original, I got the full history of the car.

    The original owner weren't a soldier but a american electrical engineer, who worked for NATO military forces in Germany in 1965-66. He ordered the car back in January 1965 from Peter Lindner Automotive in Wiesbaden, Germany. During the time in Europe, the car spent most of the time in Germany, but he took the car to France, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands and Denmark. While in Germany he drove the car to a speed of 135 MPH on a deserted stretch of the Autobahn, but as he note, it COULD go 150.

    He left Germany in late 1966 and returned to Texas, where the car drove most of its miles, as he later aquired a passenger car for daily use. Later he moved to Ohio, now the car spent most of the time in garage and faced very little use.
    In 2003 he sold the car and I brought the car on Ebay in November 2003.

    At the time the car are facing some renovation the front suspension have been refurbish and right now, the brakes are being renovating, the front brake calibers have been dismantled and cleaned.

    A new BAS interior are waiting to hopefully be installed this spring/summer.

    Bye for now!

    The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

    What disease did Lucas succumb to?
