Sellers description:
Chequered Flag International is pleased to offer this 1965 Jaguar E Type Series I 4.2 in Dark Green with Tan interior. This is a very straight, rust free, example. Even the rockers still have all their factory welds. Original matching numbers engine and cylinder head. 87,110 miles from new with 4 owners. California resident until 2008 when the last owner bought it. Originally Opalescent Gold Sand with Black. In 1994 it was chemically stripped - the body was completely devoid of rust or signs of prior accidents. The engine was removed and the whole car was repainted in Dark Green. The engine was fully rebuilt @ 80,000 miles including:- new pistons and rings, carb rebuild, new clutch and U joints. The brakes were rebuilt using stainless steel brake cylinders, stainless exhaust, new voltage regulator and alternator, new shocks etc, etc. At the same time the interior was replaced with Connelly leathers seats, new carpets, headliner and lap belts. A smaller steering wheel was added. We are refinishing the original steering wheel which will go with the car. The paint is still superb, there's a couple of small scratches (shown), the interior is superb. Mechanically it is excellent and really wonderful to drive. This is an excellent, honest and (apart from the color change) superbly correct Series I Coupe and wouldn't be out of place in a serious collection. Comes with its Heritage certificate, manuals, jack & spare.
