Sellers comment:
Up for auction is my 1967 Series 1 1/2 Jaguar E-Type Roadster RHD Chassis No. 1E.1940 (Registration GVG 329F) with extensive historical documentation back to the early 70's. GVG 329F was one of 90 cars chosen to participate in the - "GENEVA 81" 20TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE RALLY (London, England - to - Geneva, Switzerland) June 6th - 13th 1981 to commemorate the 1961 Jaguar E-Type launch. This is documented by a Certificate signed by Sir William Lyons (Chairman Jaguar Cars Ltd) 1961 and John Egan (Chairman Jaguar Cars Ltd) 1981. At this time the car also was awarded a JAGUARS DRIVERS CLUB LIMITED "CONCOURS CERTIFICATE" June 8th 1981. GVG 329F was built in Nov. of 1967 and is a Home Market Car (built in England, first registered in London in the United Kingdom November 28,1967 ). Since being built in Nov. of 1967 it makes it very unusual being in the transition period from Series One to Series Two. Since being built in this time period these are some of the unusual documented features - 4.2 Litre 265hp Triple SU Carb Engine , 4 Speed Manual Transmission, 3.07:1 Rear axle ratio, Series Two cooling system with dual electric fans, Series One interior with toggle switches and Series One body styling. The car has the two factory installed ignition switches (one in the facia, one in the steering column) which is correct and documented as being specific only to the cars that were 1967 E-Type RHD Roadsters built between Nov. and Dec. The car also has its original license plates GVG 329F (decal on the bonnet) front and rear as installed in England. I have important documentation on the cars history dating back to the early 70's to current. The documents provide a paper trail consisting of Ownership, Registration, Tests Certificates, Shipping to the U.S.documents, Photo's , Forward Engineering Co. Ltd (Engine Maintenance), and a Official Programme from the "INTERNATIONAL ' E ' - TYPE DAY" Sunday 18th July 1982 Duxford Airfield Cambridgeshire, England. I have the owners manual for the radio which may be the original being that the car was ordered with the radio option and the cassette option was introduced first in 1967, but I am not sure. The radio is a Blaupunkt Autoradio: Coburg Stereo CR. This radio is AM,FM,SW with Cassette. The car is as received from England in 1985 with Red lacquer paint which still looks great (very few dings or imperfections) along with it's original black leather interior which is in very good condition, has it's factory hardtop, seatbelts, and wire wheels. To the best of my knowledge the mileage according to the documentation (1977 Tests Certificate) shows in 1977 as having 52,586. In March of 1979 the engine was rebuilt by Forward Engineering and a new speedometer installed. The speedometer as of today shows only 24,000 miles which has been documented as correct. This would put its total mileage since new at approx. 76,500 miles. Very few parts have been changed on this car and special attention to detail to make sure what was changed was correct. When I purchased the car, it had been sitting garaged for approximately 10 years. This is a list of those installed parts approx. 3 years ago needed to make road worthy once again : new battery all new brakes including brass resleeving of all it's calipers, new tires tubes and wheel trueing, complete exhaust system, all brake and clutch hydraulics rebuilt, fuel tank removed, cleaned, and reinstalled, new rubber fuel lines, new fuel pump, complete new clutch, all belts and hoses, complete Ignition tune up, and carburetors rebuilt. GVG 329F Runs excellent (very strong) and drives equally as well. This car is rare, unusual, and historic, with documentation ready for show or go. I have tried to be as honest on my description as possible as the documents will show. I have learned about this cars heritage since being able to be fortunate enough to own it.

Vehicle Condition
The sun makes the color of the car look different in some places. Be reassured that the car is one color which is a darker red and not orange red as in some of the pictures.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
