Ebay item 9/14/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $22,522 reserve not met, 17 bids, 6 days left in auction. Tho apparently titled as a '67 this car is a '68.
Sellers description:
This classic 1967 JAGUAR XKE 4.2L Convertible Roadster demands attention everywhere it goes. This car has belonged to the same owner since purchased in 1976 and has been garaged and covered since, with regular care while in storage. This is a completely original car (ex. stereo) and has remained in closed indoor storage for the majority of its lifetime and features 42,415 original miles. Only 3,000 miles since purchased 30 years ago. This is the last production year this highly coveted SERIES 1 car was produced and the most desireable of all the Jaguars by critics and collectors alike. This Jag retains its original factory designated color combination of Old English White exterior with Red Connolly leather interior and Black top which in this writers opinion is the finest combination for a classic roadster/sportster. Investment value in this vehicle continues to climb steadily with fully restored Concours examples bringing $75K to over $135K at Hemmings.
HISTORY/DISCLOSURE: This IS NOT a MINT PRISTINE restored automobile (97+ point Concours show-quality car). In official Jaguar condition ratings this car is VERY NICE (sharp vehicle and good driver that needs little or no work done on it but not in mint or pristine condition). This IS most likely the strongest and finest original car you'll see with extremely low mileage from a single private owner. The car has (2) very minute dings that are barely noticeable. One on the right front fender and the other on the right side door. Neither spot has paint chipping and both are included in the photographs. NO RUST. The only other issue with the car is that the tachometer is not currently functioning. As stated, it has been kept in covered private storage for years unexposed to the elements and under cloth. Older restoration (20+ years) included new Connolly leathers in the interior and professionally applied paint, both historically accurate. The engine fires right up and runs terrific with no smoking, but the enthusiast will probably want to tune it and make some beautifications and adjustments. No leaks. The car comes with soft top only. The vehicle can be driven and enjoyed immediately. The car also includes some parts, original manuals, and some receipts. It should be noted that the car has a 1967 title (purchased on 1967 Illinois title/likely the original owner) but manufacture date tag shows January 1968. However, the car has glass covered headlamps like a 1967 (last year for this feature), rocker dash switches like 1968, and (2) Zenith Stromberg Carbs like a 1968 instead of the 1967 configuration of (3) SU Carbs. It has been said that in late year production Jag sometimes used newer parts and new model year production configuration creating the SERIES 1-1/2. During this time period Jag was also in process of coming into compliance w/US Federal EPA guidelines which could also account for the model confusion in essence combining SERIES 1 and SERIES 2 features in the same car. Overall an exceptional original classic Jaguar automobile that will make a new owner proud and provide a substantial return on investment.
This vehicle is part of a private collection of collectible vintage automobiles that are now being made available to the buying public. All of the vehicles in the collection have been owned by a single individual for up to 30 years or more and have been covered and stored in a privately owned warehouse since purchased. We will offer them in successive order until the entire collection is sold to the highest bidder. Reserve prices are set very modestly as seller is motivated. Do not ask for reserve amounts.
Convertible top bonnet/boot included

Sellers description:
Old English White and Red interior and redline tires. It was stored 30 years and has an Original 44,249 miles! It has had a series one bonnet with glass covered headlights installed at a cost of $8,000. It has series one wheels with new series one spinners. From the outside, this car is EXACTLY like a series one car. It has new urethane paint to include the inside of the bonnet. The engine compartment has been detailed to nice street standards. The rear chrome exhaust resonators are new. The interior has new front carpet and new large hardura behind the seats. The seats look like series one seats but recline, making for a far more comfortable ride. The chrome is a 9 of ten. The tires are Michelin 185x15 red lines with excellent tread. There is a gold Lucas sport coil. The original engine has compression that is Excellent at 160 across all cylinders, lending support for the low miles. The car runs and drives great with 40 lbs of oil pressure hot at speed and 30 lbs at idle. There is a high speed fan and modified radiator so that even in 90% + the temperature guage never gets past the center. The front end is tight with no rattles. The handling is superb. The brakes, clutch, and synchros are excellent. The bonnet has no filler in the front of the nose, like most. The hinge points for the bonnet are excellent. The floors and trunk floor are all solid. The Old English White with red interior and redline tires is a very classy and beautiful look. The car looks great and performs excellently. It is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
