Ebay item 7/24/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-OTS-/271929227113
Current bid US $5,100, no reserve, 2 bids 9 days left in auction. 70k miles.

Sellers description:
YEAR & MODEL: 1968 E-Type Series 1.5
VIN #: 1E17440
CURRENT MILEAGE: 70,000
TRANSMISSION: Manual

This is a no reserve auction and I will not end it early. If you're interested please bid.

I'm assisting my father with selling this car. It was purchased from a friend who unfortunately let the car sit out in a field for far too long. My father actually remembers seeing the car around town in the 70's and knows the previous owner. I'd love to attempt to save it, but know that I don't posses a fraction of the skills, money, or time required for this level of project.

The Good
Although the car is fairly dis-assembled I believe that it's very complete. The windshield was broken so I didn't pick it up, but the chrome windshield moldings were there.
All of the parts on the tarps are boxed up and ready to go with the car.
The engine, transmission, and front frame support have matching numbers. The body number on the back was rusted off.
I don't think it was ever in a serious accident and the front frame supports look good.
Being a series 1.5 it has open headlights, but retains the small taillights and bumpers of a series 1.
It rolls pretty easy and should be easy to ship. Clean PA title.

The Bad
THE RUST.
The engine does not turn. However, the cams looked pretty good..
Doors do not open and I didn't try too hard with the floors and sills rusted out.
We had to chisel the rear brake pads off to unlock the rear end so it will roll.
It looks like it had a minor fender bender on the left front of the bonnet and the bubble has a dent on it. Everything else that you can see from the pictures.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
