Late Series 1 (Early Ser. 1 1/2) Open headlight roadster with toggle switches on the dash, 4-Speed synchro transmission, I was told when I purchased the car that the numbers match. I've confirmed body, engine, and head numbers, but haven't confirmed transmission. Older cosmetic restoration, including interior. Original color appears to have been yellow, but current coverage is excellent, including door jambs, hinges, front subframe, etc.

Vehicle Condition
An "Exceptional, Driven" example. It's not a show car, but it's in excellent overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. It starts easily and runs well. Suspension is fine. Transmission shifts well with no problems between the lower gears. Very minor rust in the usual places but definitely not a rust bucket. No rust at all in the boot/trunk. It has an oversized radiator with electric fans and has no cooling problems whatsoever. It has a small oil leak, leaving a couple of drips after I take it out, but no pools. Normal oil consumption. Roughly 6 broken spokes on original wheels. Needs tires.

When I bought this car four years ago I immediately drove it from Chicago back to Austin without incident and have had no problems with it in the 4000 miles that I've put on it. It drives like one familiar with E-Types would expect from a 50,000 mile car and I have no reason to believe that the shown mileage isn't accurate. The car was professionally maintained by the previous owner and I have documentation for the last 5-10 years.

Please note that while Paul Skilleter's "The Jaguar E-Type" (ISBN 0-947981-15-2) indicates headlight cover deletion at 1E15889, JCNA judging criteria indicate headlight cover deletion at 1E14535. All indications imply that the proper bonnet is fitted.

If you're looking for a classy ride to take out on the weekends, or something to hold for a long time and eventually restore, then this is the car for you. I wouldn't be selling the car if I weren't making plans to move into a downtown area where storage isn't as available.

Originally Pale Primrose, car has spent perhaps 20 years dressed in carmen Red. My plan is to go for the compilation that I think looks best on this car - Silver-Grey with blue trim. I will retain the original open headlight bonnet, as this is actually a rare Series 1.25 (not 1.5). This is a run of USA/Canada export cars which had the bonnet changed some eight months before they appeared in the UK. So this is the 49th car out of 1,357 to have this one change. All other aspects of the car are pure Series 1. The cars entire strip down and reno' should be completed by September 2018.
