offered for sale at Beaulieu Bonhams sale on Sept 10th lot # 663 This left-hand drive Series 1 4.2-litre roadster was originally finished in Valentine Beige with suede green interior and French Grey top, and despatched new to Jaguar Cars New York on 9 December 1966. The accompanying Jaguar Cars vehicle information sheet records the first owner as Sherman Miller, of Las Vegas, USA. The vehicle was purchased - already restored but at date unknown - by the current owner at a UK auction in 1988, and was previously registered ‘AGS 859D’. An accompanying specialist inspection report, dated October 1996, relates that at that time it was in generally good order both mechanically and cosmetically, displaying no visible signs of corrosion. Reluctantly offered for sale only because of its owner’s advancing years and declining health, it is described by him as in good condition throughout. Finished in blue metallic with red leather interior, the car is offered with current road fund licence, Swansea V5 registration document and expired MoT certificates dating back to 1988. It is expected to possess a fresh MoT by time of sale. estimate £22000-£25000 Reg # 11 VEV Chassis # 1E 14052 Engine # 7e 11144-9

Offered for sale at Coys Horticultural show Sept 29th estimate £18k-£22k
This elegant example of the world's most beautiful car left the factory dressed in Valentine beige with a suede green interior and French grey top where upon it arrived at Jaguar Cars, New York on December 9th 1966. The accompanying Jaguar Cars information sheet records the first proud owner as Sherman Miller of Las Vegas. Latterly the vehicle was purchased, already restored but with no recorded date, by the current owner at a UK auction in 1988 and was previously registered "AGS 859D". An accompanying specialist inspection report from 1996 details its condition at that time as in generally good order both mechanically and cosmetically, displaying no visible signs of corrosion. Due to the owners deteriating health and advancing years, he has reluctantly decided to offer the car up for sale. He describes it being in good condition throughout.

Presented here with metallic blue paintwork and contrasting blue interior, 1E14052 is offered here with current road fund licence , V5 registration and expired MoT certificates dating back to 1988.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
