Ebay item 9/30/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-roadster-/161842616069
Current bid US $125,000 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction. 33k miles, seller green.and

Sellers description:
This car was restored in 2007 on a well cared for, 32,000 mile car. A primarily cosmetic restoration due to time. The engine was not rebuilt, as it didn't need to be. Car runs fine, so the engine was cleaned, serviced, and detailed. Recent work includes re-porcelained exhaust manifolds, new brake booster and master cylinder, cleaning and detailing. The only modification is the addition of a solid state fuel pump and filter for reliability, hidden in the spare tire well. Everything else is stock specification. A beautiful example in excellent driving and cosmetic condition.

Car returns to ebay 8/28/16
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-/162181725015
Car has a buy it now price of $170,000 for 4 days, same seller, 33k miles. Previous auction ended at $125,000 after 1 bid, same location.

Sellers description:
With just 33,574 original miles on the odometer and continuous ownership since 1974, this E-Type is in marvelous condition. It underwent a complete cosmetic restoration in 2008, with a new black convertible top replacing the original dark blue unit. It has been certified by Jaguar Motor Heritage, has all matching numbers, and is equipped with the original 4.2l straight-six engine and four-speed manual gearbox. It also comes with its original tool kit and owner's manual.

In 2015, AGSVRC of Savannah, GA performed a complete service and detail. A comprehensive service file accompanies what is undoubtedly an exceptional Series 1 E-Type.

As stunning as it is, the car is even more impressive on the road. The impeccable interior welcomes its driver over the frame's wide sills. The chassis is tight and responsive, while the engine and gearbox provide excellent performance. Simply put, this Jag drives as beautifully as it looks. With an open top and a classic straight-six symphony, it is a nearly unmatched motoring experience.

Car was offered on BAT at:
bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-jaguar-xke-roadster-2/
High Bid USD $123,345 (Reserve Not Met)

Sellers description:
This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that received a late-1990s refurbishment, including new paint and interior in its original colors. The car was traded in at a Baltimore-area dealer by its original owner and purchased in 1974 by its second known owner, a doctor who reportedly drove it just 8k miles over the next 41 years. The current owner acquired it in January 2015 through the selling dealer, who is now offering it again on his behalf with just under 34k indicated miles. Power comes from a 4.2L twin-cam six, which is the matching-numbers engine and is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car was recommissioned for the road in 2015 following a period of storage, and it is now being sold with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, records and photos from the 1990s work, and a clear Montana title.

The original Opalescent Silver Blue finish deteriorated by the late 1990s despite garage storage, so a bare-metal repaint was commissioned in the same color. Chrome wire knock-off wheels wear older Michelins which should be replaced prior to use on the road per the seller. Tire replacement can be carried out by the seller's shop if requested by the new owner.

Originally blue, the convertible top was replaced with a black Hartz item with new trim and moldings in 2007. The top retains a clear plastic rear window and rests under its original cover when stowed.

The leather interior was reupholstered in its original deep blue around the same time as the repaint and top replacement. A scuff is shown across the passenger-side inner door and panel edge. Factory toggles and other switchgear are shown up close, with some replaced in 2007 along with the dashboard and wood-rimmed steering wheel.

Clear Smiths and Lucas instrumentation includes a 160 mph speedometer that was rebuilt by Nisonger Instruments in 2007. The 5-digit odometer reportedly remained unaltered and shows just under 34k miles, with approximately 8k added since 1974. Tan liners are said to be original in the trunk, which is also home to a spare wire wheel and factory tool roll. Reproduction windshield washer equipment was also installed in 2007.

The twin-cam 4.2L straight-six is paired with an all-synchro 4-speed manual gearbox. Stamps reading 7E9884-9 on the engine block and cylinder head match the chassis ID plate and Heritage Certificate as shown in the gallery below. Induction is from polished triple SU carburetors, while the original SU fuel pump has been replaced with an inline Carter electric pump with a pressure regulator. A Pertronix breakerless ignition has also replaced the factory-style points.

The car was driven sparingly in the years immediately after the refurbishment, then relegated to storage until 2015. It was recommissioned for road use by Savannah specialist Andy Greene Sports and Vintage Race Cars, who rebuilt the brakes, had the exhaust manifolds re-porcelainized, sorted the fuel and ignition systems, and performed a fluid change.

Underbody photos show the drivetrain, suspension, and exhaust system, which has several small holes. Undercoated floors are also shown along with chassis rails, including a somewhat damaged front crossmember. Bubbling and flaws are detailed in the lower rockers, wheel arch lips, and horizontal rear valance.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirms the original engine number and displacement as well as exterior and interior colors.

The sale includes an original operator's manual and maintenance chart as pictured above. Photos of the refurbishment work are available along with a collection of related receipts. A smattering of older receipts is also included along with invoices from the 2015 work.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
