This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was produced on August 15, 1966 and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes triple SU side-draft carburetors, covered headlights, chrome wire wheels, a blue soft top, and a Kenwood CD stereo. A refurbishment was conducted between 2008-2009 under prior ownership, and a general inspection and an oil change was completed following the selling dealer’s acquisition out of Illinois in September 2022. This Series I XKE roadster is now offered in New York with a vinyl front body cover, a 1966 bill of sale, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate, service records, and a clean Illinois title.
Originally finished in Cream, the body was refinished in blue under prior ownership. Features include a vented hood, taillights mounted over the rear bumpers, recessed headlights with clear covers, and split chrome bumpers with guards. Photos depicting the paint, trim, and blue soft top are provided in the gallery below.
Chrome 15” knock-off wire wheels wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A matching spare combination is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with the rear units situated inboard.
Interior finishes include replacement tan leather upholstery on the seats accompanied by matching treatments for the center console and door panels. A Kenwood CD stereo is linked to speakers on either side of the center stack, and additional equipment includes a cabin heater, an adjustable rearview mirror, and manually operated windows.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a collection of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles.
The rebuilt twin-cam 4.2L inline-six features a trio of SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. An oil change and general inspection was completed in preparation for the sale.
Engine-block stamping 7E9887-9 matches the cylinder head stamp corresponds to the engine number noted on the chassis identification plate and the included Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate.
The Production Record Trace certificate lists the factory colors and identification numbers, along with the build date and distribution through Jaguar Cars of New York.
