Car has a buy it now price of $85,000 for 20 days.
Sellers description:
1966 JAGUAR E-TYPE XKE 4.2 LITER SERIES ONE ROADSTER. PRIMROSE YELLOW WITH BLACK TRIM AND SOFT TOP. 4-SPEED. CHROME WIRE WHEELS. BLACK FACTORY HARDTOP. 19,690 ORIGINAL MILES. TWO OWNERS.
KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS offers for sale, here on Ebay, a 1966 Jaguar E-type Roadster with a believed 19,690 original miles. This car is a stunning discovery just out of a 35-year hibernation. It was purchased last year from the second owner, who purchased the car in April of 1969. It appears to have been delivered new in Oregon. The second owner purchased it in California needing some front end/bonnet repair when it was only three years old. It was subsequently repaired with a new factory bonnet at that time and repainted once again in the original Primrose color. The carpets in the interior were replaced. Over the next several years, it was driven very little. Because of family commitments, it was put into permanent indoor storage in the late 1970's, then later moved to outdoor storage, and resided there until recently (the last photo shows it's discovered resting place). The last registration sticker on the California blue/yellow license plates is from 1979. A California car for just about all of it's life...
This correct and full matching numbers car is a well-preserved and original example needing only light restoration. The body exhibits perfect panel fit and gapping all the way around. The body is extremely straight and all of the panels close well. All of the chromework is original and in very decent condition. The factory hardtop has been recently added and is partially restored with a newer headliner. The car still retains most of it's original interior trim and the original softtop. The engine turns, but no attempt has been made to start it. It has perfectly clean oil on the dipstick and full up to the mark. The car would need a recommissioning on it's fuel and braking systems to make it roadworthy. The radiator/cooling fans have been updated to 1968 specification.
Overall, this car presents a unique opportunity to purchase a very low-mileage, highly desirable E-type 4.2 Liter Series One Roadster. The new buyer can decide on which route to take on it's restoration. This car could be a good candidate for a light cosmetic restoration, or a perfect donor car for a ground-up, nut-and-bolt, Concours rebuild. In either case, this car probably would not require much in the way of mechanical work. This car is sold with a clear and current California title and a small collection of associated receipts, old registrations, and other paperwork history. It is located in Southern California and can be viewed by appointment. $85,000.
